A Deadly Business

1a) What are the 2 worrying trends about drug trafficking mentioned in the article?

b) Why are Singaporeans increasingly being used as "drug mules"?

2) What will you do if you find out that one of your friends is selling drugs? How will you react if someone tries to sell you drugs?


Answer:


1a)Teens as young as 14 have been arrested for trafficking, although it is not known how many have been convicted and more Singaporeans are being arrested for drug crimes overseas. Between 2002 and 2006 ,some 330 were caught in Thailand and Malaysia,where many are now behind bars.


b)Because Singaporeans do not need a visa for many places, and they are less likely to be checked because of Singapore's reputation for being tough on drugs.


2)I will advise my classmate and advise him/her that is not good to deal with drugs. If he does not listen to me, I will respect his/her decision, as I know that everyone has their own reason for their actions
